woyww - copper patina

My desk is littered with drying samples of my attempt at the Andy Skinner's Copper Patina effects, ATC backgrounds for a progressive atc, a cup of herbal tea and other random things that just get dumped on my desk.  I have never participated in a progressive ATC and the list of instructions (on the left) may actually scare me off!
A close up of one of the copper patina attempts

which started life as white cardstock which I embossed using the Stampin Up "Manhattan Flower" folder.  Not sure what I am going to do with them but finding the effect really interesting.

Wonder what everyone else is doing on woyww?

  1. I love your copper patina rose. It's hard to believe it's paper. Great job. Good luck with the progressive ATC; sounds a bit scary to me, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

  8. These look amazing ....would make striking card fronts.
As for the cats ...they do not cause too many problems ...except when I need to cook....not sure how they know but I open a cupboard and hey presto I'm surrounded ...then it takes 10mins to get them all out ....unless I bribe them with treats lol xx10

Your copper patina rose is beautiful. It's always amazing what you can turn a boring piece of white card into isn't it? Can't wait to see what you do with it.

  13. Gorgeous patina effect - one day I really must sign up for one of Andy Skinner's online tutorials... I've never heard of a progressive ATC! It seems I'm not the only one... Can you enlighten us?

Thanks for your lovely comment, and I'm really glad you enjoyed seeing "your" little fan in the making! They are fun to do. I've got a whole lot more Perfect Pearls on order at the moment - they are just so cool to use, as they are so versatile, and whatever you use them for, they look gorgeous! A great invention.

Glad you like all my projects.

    Happy WOYWW,

You asked about the Art Journalling mag - I've only skimmed through it but so far I love it! and yes, it is the one with kate crane in. I think I will take this for a while for sure. Helen, 12

  16. oooh, now that's an interesting effect! I like metallic sheens on fabric, cards, jewellery..and you'd never say that yours started out as white card!! That's very clever. Think you should carry on experimenting :)

  23. WOW! The copper patina look is fabulous. I never would have guessed that it started life as a piece of white paper. I've done progressive cards before but never a progressive ATC. That is a small working space for many hands to use. It sounds interesting though.
