woyww - progressive atc

My first progressive atc and the steps are not that complicated but rather repetitive.   I won't type out the page of instructions.  (Although a nincompoop like me actually needs the pages of instructions so that I could understand what I was meant to do.)  But woyww are far more clever.  You need 3 people in the group.  First person makes the background sends to second person who adds focal image who then sends to third person to add embellishments. Then you all swap places and so that in the end you have 3 different atc's with each step created by a different person.   Not sure yet which focal image I will use.
A completed box using quite a few of Andy Skinner's techniques i.e. copper patina, chipped and rusted paint and rivets and rust.
Finally a pic of another lovely orchid flowering on my deck.
See you all on the wonderful world of woyww....

  6. OK, I really do understand about the ATC swap now. Curious to see the end results. That orchid is beautiful! I've got some flowering (in the ground) in a corner of the garden, where they can't be seen!
Lovely lunch, thanks again for gorgeous lace, etc.

  9. great post! Love the idea of a progressive ATC swap. Great picture of the orchid and green sunshiny garden! Did you guys get hit with a storm last week? I have been following the weather pretty close (since I was storm chasing) and it looked like you were under some warnings. Have a great week. Vickie #67

  13. See I just think some of us struggle under instruction.. you are by no means a nincompoop - however I may be - not mailed your things yet because I suddenly thought My Aunt cannot get peas into AUS when she goes through customs ( she always throws open her bags and declares - check my bags I'm not sure....and she usually has something removed by them ( they must keep a record and hvae her down as a smuggler - no suprise that we are related?)...

    - can I post glass???

if not I have to swap what I made you...

  14. That’s an interesting way to make an ATC Sandra. I’ve never really got into making ATC’s myself and have only ever made one (well four really but all the same design) for the anniversary swap, but it sounds fun.

And what a beautiful Orchid….how big is that flower!
I have three in my kitchen but they are nowhere as big as your one.

    Happy Crafting!

  16. WOW. That box is my kind of art. I've always wanted to play in a progressive piece. I've done swaps, but none that were progressive. Good for you. I look forward to some completions, too. Happy WOYWW from #6.

  18. Wow! That is quite the orchid. Nincompoop! I haven't heard that word in forever. I don't think you are one though. Directions are a good thing and keep you on task. I like that progressive ATC has distinct rules-first one does this, second one does that, etc. Is your tall lady from the stamp (Stampotique!) going to be on the ATC? That will be fun.

  19. Ahh, so that's what a progressive ATC is!! Thought it was a very right-in piece of work :)
And your orchid has a face - it looks like Audrey from A Little Shop of Horrors to me!!!!

  22. Fascinating concept, the progressive ATC, Sandra! Reminds me of what a friend of mine used to do years ago. It started quite accidentally. She gave her daughter a present with a bow on it, and her daughter saved the bow and added some glitter or something to it, and attached it on her next present back to her mother. In the end this bow went all around the family (and even spent a short while with me) with each person adding something extra, until the embellishment (no longer just a bow!) was totally OTT and it was hard to stop it circulating! I think it stopped when it started falling apart and bits were dropping off!

Beautiful orchid - a lovely photo of it, too.

The box with Andy Skinner's techniques is great, too. Altogether a very interesting post!

    Happy WOYWW,

  25. Thanks for your lovely comment, Sandra - I'm a half-way nincompoop - I throw things away and then fish them out of the bin again when I realise I can use them lol! We live and learn. My motto definitely has to be Never Throw Anything Away lol! I'm having So Much Fun with the inks, the spraying, the randomness of the results... It's all SO creative!
