woyww - recycling

Working on a recycled canvas and staying with that theme I am using recycled bits of paper, lace, earings, string, wire, plastic rings, tags, knitting needles and anything else I can find.  Following through with a theme often used by Finnabair which basically means you don't throw anything away and then you rummage through boxes of stuff and glue it down.

6 Mr Da Vinci's all in a row.  Completed and posted for the atc swap.  I used a quote attributed to him "Learning never exhausts the mind."  Well ... he was a genius.  I on the other hand often have an exhausted mind but, Leonardo and I are back on speaking terms.  Thanks to everyone for suggestions.   I am holding out on the gears as the next atc swap is steampunk.  I need all the gears I can get.

Off to the wonderful world of WOYWW.

  2. Already love the look of your canvas - like all that white space - and I'm a great fan of recycling so like all your bits and bobs too. If 'learning does not exhaust the mind' how come I was always falling asleep in the library at uni :) Happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #105

  3. Oh I am so excited to see more of that recycled canvas. So pretty already. Very inspirational. Lord knows, I have a lot that can be recycled in my craft supplies.

Love the divinci's very cool idea. Thanks for sharing your pretty art pieces.

I am a very bad girl today, I didn't post a link to my site because I didn't have much to show so no worries if you visit my site. It's not stopping me from snooping!

  6. Hi Sandra thanks for popping to visit - I will definitely post a picture of the finished frames. Glad to see you got your mojo back and finished your ATCs - they look great. Your canvas already looks fab and to think it is all bits and pieces that could so easily have been thrown away. I look forward to your finished photo too. WOYWW Hugs to you from Helen 15

  8. That canvas is going to be so good and you can be justifiably proud of it by saving all those little bits from the bin. Great atc's but I'm in agreement about the often exhausted mind!

  14. Love that idea of not putting things down and just using them. That is the principle of dry stone walling too, I believe. You do not put the piece of stone down but find the right place to fit it in. Thank you for your visit this week. I just wish there were a couple more days in the week. Every time I make a plan, someone finds something else to fill the space instead. Never mind, life is not boring. Have fun with your canvas. xx #102

  15. Just my type of art! Recycled! I don't like throwing things away and I love it when I am able to use something that would usually be thrown away! Patsy

  25. Good to hear that you and Leo are back on speaking terms, lol! I guess he forgave you when he saw how great the ATCs turned out! I am interested now to see how that canvas will turn out as so far it looks fabulous and I like the idea of using recycled bits!

  26. It's a whole lot more comfortable when pure back on terms with a genius! Must say I like the ATcs very much. Am slightly vexed that if you stick 'found' things on that canvas, you might end up unsticking them when/if you find their pair!!
