woyww - blue bits and bobs

A week certainly comes around quickly and what do I have to show?  The beginnings of new canvas in shades of blue, white and silver.  Nothing is glued down yet as I play around with the bits and bobs.

The inspiration for "blue bits and bobs" probably came from "Veronica Spictata" blooming in the garden.  Thanks to RosA (and google) I can now call her Veronica and learnt that it is the county flower of Montgomeryshire in the UK. Without the help of woyww's I would still be in the dark.  Off to visit Julia's world of woyww.

  1. Haven't got around to posting for WOYWW - been up to my eyes in something fishy instead. Your canvas is looking very promising and I look forward to seeing it when finished. I tried to find out what that plant was but didn't place it as a veronica - interesting to learn it's connection with Montgomeryshire too - something new I've learned today :) Elizabeth xx

  2. That canvas is looking very promising! I'm wondering what you have done in the background. Can just see some faint texture, looks interesting. I spy the ring from a vegemite jar. Right? Don't tell me we have both been collecting them!

Yup, finally got the top spot! My computer refreshes so slow at home I thought I'd be about 3 or 4, but Nope, I was at the top!!

  19. Hi Sandra,

Your canvas is starting out wonderfully! The plant is just beautiful - I remember the photo from last week. The color reminds me of a butterfly bush.

  28. Oh I call that plant an Echium.. Is what you call it the horticultural name of it. I have it in my garden too it did so well in the long drought we had here, it thrived where other plants just kicked up there toes and died.. No water on them at all as it was restricted and they did so well. I planted more.. Your canvas is amazing. Thanks for coming to visit my blog already.. Sandy :)

  30. I suspect my mind is a wee bit in the gutter this morning as I thought those flowers were quite happy to see me--rather phallic but also very beautiful. I am loving how the canvas is coming together. You did bits and bobs very well! They give me fits and never look as good glued down as they did when I was just messing about.
