woyww - leaves and pods

This is my desk very late on Tuesday night and as it won't change by Wednesday it is becoming my woyww pic.  The page was a composition assignment for Jane LaFazio's online class and I am happy with how it all came together.  "Keep it simple" definitely works for me.
A close up of the page which was originally ruled into thirds, objects drawn in the boxes or across a couple of boxes.  Then all the drawings are outlined in waterproof black ink, pencil lines rubbed out and watercolour added. Finally you draw lines around the boxes you want to keep and add some text and the date.  Nice and simple.

I wonder what others have on their desk this week?

  1. Beautiful. I really love the simplicity of this and I don't mean in any way to detract from the technical skill required to do it. Awesome work! Happy WOYWW, Cindy #51

  3. Simplest is often the hardest to carry off, but boy, do you do it in style. I love it, the boxes, the watercolour, the text, everything. I'd choose that any day over the elaborately embellished.....gorgeous!

  4. Nice neat space well lit and ready. You've done a fine job with this composition. The leaf rests ever so lightly...showing the dimension. Be well Carole #68

  24. So so SO pretty. I love the way the leaf drifts into the other box. Lovely composition, lovely soft colours, all just fab. And is that a date stamp? Did I read the post to quickly and miss it? It just adds that perfect touch for me, love the contrast.

Happy (day late but so glad I made it here) WOYWW!
