woyww - Beady eyed poultry

A birds eye view of my desk with 2 beady eyed friends painted in the journal I was binding a couple of weeks ago.

Let me introduce Rudi.
As we don't have chickens in the backyard I use Google and waste time selecting an image that has a little personality.    While painting I could just imagine Rudi strutting around the hen house trying to impress silly chicks like Mabel.
Mabel is a good example of when I fiddle with the watercolour and get grey muddy sections rather than clear colours.    But all fun .....as I can just turn the page and start another picture.
Planning a slow peak at many woyww over the weekend.
Thanks for visiting.

  2. I'm a bit wary of chickens, but yours look great! You've especially captured Rudi's very life like expression and beady eye.
Friday should be fine for lunch, just let me know which one/s suit.

  5. Those watercolours are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! Honestly Sandra, you've got the knack of painting with what is, I think, a really tricky medium to get right. Rudi is fantastic....truly Cock of the Walk :-)

Anybody that can make a recognizable image with water colors has my deepest admiration. You nailed it with both rooster and chicken!!!!

  18. Love your chickens, dad had a chicken for years we called her Eggbert gosh she was a good layer it used to just roam the property free and when he went away she would come to our house and sleep at the back door off the kitchen. Eggbert would tap, tap, tap on the window when we were in there and we would tap back at her it was hilarious. Rudi is a little bit like her, so I like this one the most, but the colours in Mabel are really great, love it. Thanks for visiting, have a great week crafting.
