woyww - cluttered desk in summer

Not often that I step back and take a more detailed photo of the desk and now I see why. Clutter.... I dream of a white desk with lots of space and everything in its place and then I get back to reality and just keep painting.  Trying my hand at capturing a couple of nectarines in watercolour.  Ooops.... will have to add a third nectarine to balance that picture.

Have started using my new art journal which I was binding last week.  The finished journal is made from folded Arches watercolour papers, bound and covered in scrapbook papers.  The finished size of the journal is an A4.  The last one I made was an A5.  Good to have variety and even better I did not buy anything to make the journal.
Now for something completely different. A bunch of Corymbia "Summer Red", I love the smell and look of eucalyptus.

Have a lovely woyww.

  7. Bravo on finishing, and now using, your newly bound journals! :D They must be especially fun to use knowing you made them yourself!!! I cannot paint - at all! - so I stamp instead. God bless!

  9. Love flowering gums! Have you got that one growing at your place? I would love to find room for one.
Very satisfying to make your own handbound books. Could be quite addictive :)
Just done a woyww post but haven't linked yet.

  12. It is always very interesting visiting peeps from downunder. I can practically feel the warm temperatures and can tell by your lovely flowers that you live on a different continent. That is what I like about WOYWW, it is opening your mind.
Your projects are awesome as usual! Hm.. yes I could do with some more deskspace, but my hubby keeps telling me it might be better to clear up, because we are not going to buy another house.
Thank you for your earlier visit!

  13. A neat and tidy desk is a boring desk, embrace mess, it's so much more creative :) Love the colours you are using for the nectarines. I saw the flowers and realised they are like the ones I'm doing with my bird painting. They are gorgeous aren't they. You are so clever making your own books. I would love to try but I'm too scared I'd wreck it.
    Have a great week,

  14. I love the smell of eucalyptus too! It's a real love/hate smell, isn't it?
You definitely need another nectarine...things always look better in odd numbers, IMHO. Besides they look like two tanned boobs at the moment...the real thing, not your painting, I hasten to add!!! Lol

  15. Hey - I have a white desk - and believe me when I tell you I can hardly ever see any of it!!! I keep dreaming, though, of pristine storage and space....
Good looking painting, and great looking journal - even better when it doesn't cost, isn't it? The eucalyptus looks good - I don't know as I have ever smelled it, though.
Thanks for visiting already - I shall enjoy giving those blankets away, knowing they will raise funds for the children in Uganda.
    Take care. God bless.

  16. I adore the colours in that nectarine painting - so vibrant, they are leaping off the screen. Yum. Must be time for lunch!

I had a white desk once upon a time... never again, blimey that was a pain to KEEP white. Now my desk in the shed is a *ahem* rescued piece of (brand new at the time) kitchen sideboard that someone had thrown in a skip. Excess from where they were doing their kitchen up. I don't mind a jot if that gets all painty ;)

  18. Hi Sandra de! Lovely new journal - you could tell us a bit more about it next time (what type of paper you used, binding method, etc.) It would be lovely to see your nectarines a bit closer as well. Thanks for visiting earlier! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #34

  19. Not sure what clutter you mean, Sandra, it looks mighty tidy to me. Don't forget to share the finished nectarines.
Your journal looks great and a real stash buster!!!
I love eucalyptus too. We had a huge tree in the garden that died off during a particularly cold winter the other year but it's all shooting from the bottom again which is a great thing and I'm growing jasmine up the big stump so it's still a thing of beauty.
    Have a good week.

  22. I love eucalyptus as well - and in cough sweet form too.
Good to see your new journal and even better to know that all went well with the binding of it. Now we wait for some of your work to be shown that you are doing in it.
Love your painting - I need to brush up my skills.
Hugs, Neet (and thinks for visiting me when I was out) xx

  23. I too dream of a room that looks like a magazine...all white and styled and organised. Mine is organised, but done on a shoe string, so it is not elegant at all. Practical yes! #56

  24. I have that same fantasy of a white desk with white storage and everything just so. I have no idea why as there is no way I'm giving up my rolltop desk! Great job painting the nectarines. I don't paint that's why I stamp so I am impressed by those of you giving it a go. The journal came out very nice. Do you use them or collect them? Both ways is fun. Judy #79

  25. Love the journal and the painting looks good too. I also love the fact that you think your desk is cluttered when actually it's just busy and that's how it should be Lol! Thanks for the visit, Angela x 33

  26. I would never try painting something like nectarines, I don't think anyone would be able to recognize the result :) yours look lovely, red-orange-yellow is such a yummy combination. Do eucalyptus flowers smell the same as oil? I never even imagined they have flowers!

  28. Hi Sandra de, well I just checked your profile as I was wondering where you lived after you posted the Eucalyptus flowers - I would love to have a forest of flowering gums, they're gorgeous... just love that they are natives too. You've done an excellent job of the nectarines - do enjoy yourself, Cheers from a queenslander...RobynO#20, thanks for visiting me too

  33. Thank you for visiting my blog and your desk is not cluttered at all by my standards - I must say though that it is probably a dream of a lot of us crafters to have a big white desk with a lot of space but it always stays just a dream....:-)
    Lots of hugs,
