woyww - clematis in stages

My desk is littered with w/c paints and different stages of painting the latest flower.  Stage 1 of painting a clematis followed by a pic of stage 3.
It will sit overnight drying and then I move on to stage 4.  Anna Mason says most people stop painting at this stage thinking they might ruin it but she suggests you keep going.  I was ready to give it up at stage 1 as it looked awful... glad I am following instructions.
A completed blueberry painted last week but too busy to post.
Finally the white cosmos that I started two weeks ago.  Painting at my desk is all fits and starts.
Have a lovely woyww peek and I promise to slowly visit lots of inspiring desks.

  2. Ohhh love your clematis, Sandra. I didn't know you grew them in Oz. I have loads in my garden, just love them, although they are all cut down now for the winter. Yours is so lifelike, really cheery on a dark morning. Love the other pictures too, you are so talented with your painting.
Hope you have a good week.

  3. Gorgeous painting as usual, you really are very talented. What do you do with all of your paintings?
I never thought of painting in stages perhaps that is where I go wrong (or went wrong as it is ages since I tried). Look forward to seeing how the clematis turns out in the end.

  8. Your talent is really shining through. These flowers are so life-like. It's difficult for you to detach yourself from all the pains and struggles of the creation process when you look at your work but we don't see that. We see amazingly life-like flowers that we feel we can reach out and touch. Diane #24

  12. Our blueberries never stayed around long enough to be painted and am sure I would not have made it look so good.
    Love the flowers.

    Have a good week

  16. Oh, Sandra, those really are coming on beautifully! What a lovely course to do. I'm sure you must be enjoying yourself - and how satisfying, to see the gorgeous results you are producing. I really like that clematis - we have some just like that in our garden (well, we do in summer time!). Thanks for sharing your "in progress" photos with us. as it's really interesting to see how you are building up layers. I wouldn't have painted the flower this way, but started with the main colour, then added the veins and details; I think this is a much better approach and I'm sure the results would demonstrate that. Keep up with the great work!
    Happy Thursday (I'm late again!).
