woyww - back to the shell

Painting the shell for the second time.  I still have 3 more tutorials to watch before it is complete.  The one started last month was given away as a thank you.  Have no idea why I have all my paints on the desk when I am only using 5 but probably due to laziness on my part.

Couple of pics from the sketchbook - lotus flowers and orchids at the hotel.
So good to be home and back into the woyww routine.
Have a great week.

  1. Your shell is coming along nicely and your flowers are pretty. I like keeping all of my paints out, regardless if I use them all the time or not. :)

  9. thanks for popping in on me.... I miss so many lovely folk, like you, now that I don't do WOYWW. I'm loving stitching now and I see that you have certainly moved on to finer things. Your art work is just beautiful.
Happy New Year filled with creativity!

  10. We all perform better in a routine!! Creatures of habit I think! The shell is recognisable instantly. I laughed at your five colours but all the paints remark, it's what Claude Monet did. His last series of pictures were only done using five colours. You're in great company!

  15. Beautiful! I wish I had your patience! It's all about observation and practice isn't it? I want quick results, so I doubt I will ever be able to paint like this! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #48

  16. I'm always envious of anyone with illustrating/painting talent - I'm usually a splodger - as my 'talents' definitely lie elsewhere. These look beautiful and I'll bet that you make it look effortless whilst painting :)

  17. I wish I could paint like that! Your shell is beautiful. I think that gene must have skipped me. It is somewhere in my family as both my Aunts paint/draw. I am very envious of my husband and son who are both great at drawing - but don't do it!!! Aarrggg

  19. The shell looks lovely in that delicate palette of colours. I laughed at your comment because my daughter was working on something for college yesterday and she kept getting out more and more art supplies!

  21. Seems I always bring more products to the table than I actually use, so I can relate. This shell is simply incredible, but so are the flowers you created.

Thanks for visiting while I slept. Happy WOYWW from #2.

  26. Love the shell, they are not easy to draw or shade and need very careful observation. I used to give them to my children to practice their drawing skills and it was soon obvious which ones even bothered to look at them Lol! Thanks for the visit to mine, have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 17
