woyww - an orange

Painting a vivid orange and getting lost in the segments late on a wednesday evening.  Anna Mason's tutorials stress that painting any object is always about the balance between the light, dark and mid tones.  As I step back and look at the pic I can see more work to be done on the balance of these tones.  Lots of quiet and very detailed fun while painting an orange of all things.

Have a lovely woyww.

  2. Wow - an orange so whats not to love. You have some nice watercolour pand there. My favourite when I was little and the kids paint tins had the name underneath the colour was gamboge - I tend to be a bit more orange theses days. Have fun it's going really well x Jackie 22

  11. I've had a really busy day with sewing and avoiding the wet paint and am just catching up with some of my blogging friends.
Your orange looks good from here but I just know you will get it perfect before you finish :-)

  13. Lost in the segments..that is a good place to be if you ask me! I'm not sure how you can tell about the tonal work, I guess it comes from the lessons. It is already, t me, absolutely fab. Quite a therapy this painting, hey?

  19. Hi Sandra, thanks for swinging by my blog, sorry for the late visit. Lots of people have commented about discipline being required to work from home. I agree! You learn over time to be more structured. I love your orange, I wish I could paint or draw..seeing your orange makes me want to learn. Cx #53
