woyww - slow painting

Painting peonies in a bowl looked like a good idea and I thought I would have a great pic for woyww.

Reality is...... progress is slow and it may take weeks to finish at this rate.   Started adding highlights and lost my way last night.  Sought refuge in Pinterest for an hour or 2 and that has been the sum total of my week.

But, I did paint a Flag iris while on holidays and now I really appreciate a simple flower with a couple of petals.

Looking forward to having a peek of woyww desks over the weekend.

  3. Sandra, the Iris is gorgeous!!! I love the beginnings of that peony as well! I love both of those flowers and wish I could get them to grow in my yard! I'm all too familiar with seeking refuge in Pinterest! Sometimes it comes up profitable, sometimes not so much, LOL! Blessings for the rest of your week! Felicia #34

  5. Wow, I mean Wow, I thought the Iris was a picture that you were going to copy next! Your painting is sublime. Peonies are my favourite blooms, so many layers and ruffles to lose your way with. Hope you enjoy it when you find the path again though!

  8. Darn those frilly complicated iris petals!! (Now there's a sentence I didn't think I'd be writing today, lol!) But how beautiful is that painting - once again you amaze me with your fantastic technique. I wish I could paint like you :-)

  9. Gorgeous paintings. I'm quite happy to hear you've lost your way a bit Lol! This often happens to me and it's best to walk away and do something else until Mr Mojo pops back. Thanks for the comment over at mine and happy woyww, Angela x 12

  11. Wow, the iris is exquisite - initially I thought it was a photo of one you were going to copy next! I am sure you'll get to grips with the peony, perhaps just walking away from it for a while will help. It's always such a pleasure to visit your blog and see your beautiful work, thank you for brightening my morning.

  12. Your iris looks so realistic! Very pretty, delicate petals! I know I would never be able to paint anything like that - just don't have the patience - nor the talent, LOL! Love the ergonomic set up of your desk - that's something else I never worry about and ended up pulling my back a few weeks ago while reaching for a tube of paint in a frenzy of activity with the gelli plate! Duh! Have a wonderful week! zsuzsa #21

  13. So looking forward to seeing the peonies but in the meantime am sitting with a dropped jaw at the flag iris. It is beautiful and I know the peonies will be too - they will be well worth waiting for.
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me - Neet 1 xx

  14. Love your flowers. I know how it feels to start a project only for it to take a lot longer than you thought. My mermaid pic on my blog was like that. Thought I'd do it in a few hours but it took 3 days in the end!! Thanks for sharing. Take care Zo xx 25
