woyww - a leaf and pour

Started painting the leaf after a morning walk.  By the time I came back to add some finishing touches the leaf had curled and light was not so good at my desk.

Also tried my hand at an acrylic dirty pour.  So many great you tube clips on how to do this type of very free flowing art.  Made a mess and learnt a big lesson.  I had left the canvas outside on top of a box and came back hours later to find a square piece of plastic had floated by and landed on my canvas.  I tried to carefully peel it off but it has still left an imprint. Can you spot it?

That is all for me this week.

  4. Ah, but the square of plastic was an integral part of the creating! I love the free flow canvas, it looks like Turner :-D

  5. Here's a technique I haven't come across. Very interesting. Very nice too. I zoomed in and, yes, I found the spot where the plastic landed, but if you hadn't mentioned it ...
    The leaf looks good too.

  6. Hi Sandra, love this. I watched a couple of You Tube videos about this last week, oddly enough. Love the free form nature of it. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX

  8. I had to look very closely to spot anything and I still like it; it adds to the interest. I bought some Silicone lubricant from Aldi before I went away, so I'm going to have to give this a go. Amazing leaf; so life like. Sarah #23

  9. I think I can see the square, but just call extra texture! The leaf already looks realistic and more detailed than I could ever paint! I bet you could even paint that sponge! Hope you have a good week and it's not too cold Downunder! zsuzsa #17

  10. Nope, cannot spot it.
Had to smile at your leaf curling - cannot remember what it was but we had to draw some kind of plant I think it was for A level art and the day was hot hot hot. By the end of the time allowed the plant did not look anything like what it had started out as. Good excuse for me who produced a not so good drawing. Thankfully you have talent and yours is lovely. Hard to tell the real one from the painted one.
Hugs & Thanks for visiting me

  14. I can't see the imprint, but often these "accidental" things that happen are the making of the piece! It looks great to me! Your leaf is also beautiful, you captured the last life of it just before it dried up and crinkled. Forever in eternity. Thanks for sharing, Lindart #31

  16. Loving your leaf, beautiful. I fancy the acrylic pours but seem a bit messy. You really must get some of the Painters pyramids if you don't have them, they are so useful. Have a great woyww and a lovely crafty week, Angela x12x
