WOYWW, cards & shopping

What's on my desk? well another scrapbooking shop is closing down or going online.  A sign of our times!  Bought quite a few goodies and stocked up this morning.  No time to even start playing before I got a pic so that I could join in WOYWW.

Almost finished making cards for Xmas and a few pics to share.  Always fun to sit with a friend and create some cards and chat.  We used the "Darkroom Door  Noel "stamps.  Tried to make a card without lumps and bumps that can go in the mail.  Once I got bored with the colour swapped over to different cardstock and that kept me going for another stretch.  Off to see what everyone else has been up to.

  8. Sorry to read about the local craft store. Yep, a sign of the times. But it looks like you got some bargains, at least. And your cards are simply gorgeous, too.

You asked about Route 66 in your comment on my blog. It's a book that takes you on Route 66 in the US. It is one of the oldest highways and covers either 11 or 13 states. It starts in Illinois and ends in California. Lots of lovely photos and history in the book. It was a gift from a friend. Thanks for asking (or for hubby asking).

  12. SCORE! You picked up quite a stash there. Seems like they are either closing down if they are small brick/mortars here or getting really really big - no middle ground anymore. Thanks for the peek.

  21. Shame the craft store is closing down but looks like you got some lovely new stuff. Lovely Jacaranda flower in the other post, I can't imagine what it would be like to have Christmas in a hot climate.

  23. Wow, great amount of new stuff..shame that you won't have a touchy feely source for shopping though. I like the cards - know what you mean about the boredom of single layers - you cracked it though. And oh, just caught sight of your Jacaranda..heaven!

  25. How lovely to visit someone who is in the middle of Summer while we are shivering over here in the UK!!!
I've just had a look at your previous posts and those flowers are gorgeous although it's terrible about the floods. I hope you won't be affected.
Those goodies look great, can't wait to see what you create with them although it's a shame about your craft store closing down.
Looking forward to popping over again for a dose of sunshine.

  27. those cards are lovely. Is it a range of stamps or did you do the script background first then over stamp with another one?

just read down to your magnolia post. I'm struggling to keep anything in my garden alive with the dogs.

thanks for the lovely comments about my cards too
