With weather like this I have a perfect excuse to paint, stamp and scrap. Working on the last of the she art girls and this one probably reflects an older me!!!
The photo is dark (sorry) but with this weather no amount of flash/ lights or drawn curtains was going to brighten up my little desk. I have really enjoyed the she art online workshop, mainly because Christy really does show you how to build backgrounds by layering and using different textures and stamps, paint, inks etc, etc. The girls themselves are "cookie cutter style" but their little blank faces do have appeal. I have never been able to draw (yet) so this suits me for now.
I'm off to check out Julia's woyww and be inspired and have a giggle.

Easter fun
Happy Easter to all who celebrate and a happy break to those who don't. I have finished 2 of the 5 projects over the easter break and quite pleased with the end result. My first she art girl (tissue paper background that misbehaved and was sent to the corner).

woyww and unfinished projects
5 unfinished projects at last count, not bad considering it has been a busy week and I still managed to start 5 projects. On the left is my first draft from the She Art Workshop a bit too cute but the techniques are interesting. In the background a 12 x 12 canvas that I completed at Nat Kalbach's workshop on Monday night. I still have to pick a photo for the blank spot and was thinking of adding the family pic. Nat's workshop was great and again it was great working with gesso and learning something new. Finally in the middle of my desk is the sulking background from last week. Yes it is back and we are on speaking terms.
Have to hop over to Julia's blog to see what everyone else has been doing. I feel like life is on fast forward thank goodness for the easter break.

WOYWW -backgrounds
The desk is not very interesting as I am in the process of finding my login details for the "She art workshop" which started on Monday but, I didn't start until Wednesday. Also a couple of cards I made and some postcards I picked up from the hospital art exhibition I went to on Tuesday.
A pic of the first stage of the workshop. The canvas with their different background papers (tissue paper, book pages/ sheet music and scrapbook leftovers).
Final photo after I have added the first layer of paints, texture paste and ink as I start playing around with the backgrounds.
Not showing the third canvas as it is sulking in the corner. It turned into a hideous muddy mess and has been painted white. When it behaves it will be given one more chance. Enjoy your Wednesday.

Art Journal pages
I forgot all about posting the art journal pages ..... oooops. Now if you are wondering what I am blogging about go to The Kathryn Wheel and you will see some amazing journal pages.
This is what I have completed so far .... March. Thank you for the hint about the Kitty stamp. Ordered and it arrived in time to add kitty to the family.
The beginnings of April, a different look ... with glimmermist background, flourish stamps and pearly paint.
