I know I have mentioned the portfolio oil pastels in previous posts and I am still using them on a regular basis. Love how they blend over anything, paint, canvas, inks or straight onto cardstock. I love how inexpensive they are and must admit I have a preference for the brights.
They can be heat set which means no more fixative fumes in my little room. Once I have finished a page I hit it with the heat gun and watch it melt. I owe Leandra a big thanks for putting me onto the oil pastels, she had a great tute posted on her blog Paper Artsy in January of this year.
Also working on an ATC for a particular swap this month. But, I can't show you just yet.....
Those Portfolio oil pastels sound like a really good idea Sandra.I musdt try them. I am loving the Pan Pastels. They are just so much easier to use than traditional pastels, and charcoal!

I've never owned an oil pastel, except for the ones that take turpentine. And that will really stink up a room. That's why I don't use mine.
ReplyDeleteI am going to ask my friend Halle to send you my address. Or, I might create an account with my internet provider, since I hate google's g-mail. My juno account hasn't worked in months. I still am not sure why not. I tried to send an e-mail to you about a month ago, but I couldn't get it to send. I haven't forgotten your generosity! Happy WOYWW from #9.
BTW, your link goes back to Julia!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colors and the oil pastel has given you for your journal pages. Heat setting the colors is an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing. Vickie #28

ReplyDeleteBeautiful and bright art journal pages. I think a smaller book makes it more precious. I like those projects, like the altered book, that you can just take your time on and work at your own pace. It takes the stress out of them. I have to admin that I have to watch it with those though otherwise my slow pace could stop altogether!
ReplyDeletesuper journal pages, keep up the good work re your altered journal
ReplyDeletehave a fab woyww
