woyww - watercolour grid

Still playing with watercolours and what you see on my desk is the completed glaze grid on a fairly tidy desk.  I had already started to pack away when I took the photo and there was an amazing mess to produce one A3 grid.  Even though the book is on the left it has nothing to do with the grid.   I am actually attending a series of classes on watercolour and this was one of the techniques we did on Tuesday.  Having access to a teacher is wonderful  and having a class of like minded "would be watercolourist's" is really inspiring.

Now I am planning on slowly visiting a number of desks on WOYWW over the next couple of days.

  6. Love the plaid effect and the gorgeous colours - not at all washed out. It sounds like you are having a great time with the class. I'm happy to use watercolours to colour in stamps but I'm not sure I'd be confident with anything more testing. BTW, lovely tidy desk - it looks as though all you need is within arms reach. Have a happy WOYWW. Elizabeth x #58

  7. Thanks for popping by Sandra de. No progress on the fairy yet as we have decided to go to the shops! I love your grid. I always admire water colours as I know from the little dabble I have had what skill it takes. I am more of an acrylic fan. I expect your grid took a long time. It would make a lovely background paper!!!! Have fun on your course and don't forget to share your progress. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 82

  10. I'm such a saddo....I could live with that watercolour grid on my wall, honestly! Patterns really are my thing, I prefer them to any other sort of art form. Celtic knot works are my absolute favourites, how the famous illustrated manuscripts were done is completely beyond me! I'm glad you're enjoying the class, it really helps when you do something like that :)

  15. Hi Sandra, I know what a grid is used for, but MY question is: How did you get your lines sooo straight? LOL. A water color class sounds so enchanting. I love water colors pictures but am not good at producing them. Can't wait to see more of your water color work!!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog

  23. A great colourful grid. I bought an online water-colour course but I haven't actually worked through much of it yet. A proper class would have been much better to keep me focused Thanks for sharing. See you again next week. I hope you enjoy the rest of yours. Kate x #84.

  29. Oh dear, cold knocked me for 6 again yesterday, then computer had a problem so DH had it all evening. Gosh the grid looks amazing. I just bought myself a little tin of watercolours, but nothing like that will ever come from me as I find watercolours so difficult, not my "thing" really but needed them for Art Journaling techniques. Thanks for stopping by and Happy belated WOYWW BJ#4

  31. That grid is so clever. I only dabble with watercolours, having been put off painting when I was at school. I just play to see what I can do. Glad to hear you are enjoying your class. Thank you for your visit. My paper towel roll is just the cheap variety from Sainsbury's, so nothing special. I usually use white ones but this was one left over from a previous batch. Have a good week. xx Maggie #42

  32. Your watercolour grid looks really colourful. It actually looks like some placemats I have! Glad the class is going well. Have I given you one of those handcarved stamps? Can't remember. But I love making them, it's sort of therapeutic, in a strange way.
