A few more blooms as a thank you for all the lovely comments last week. The lovely "Frugal Crafter" gave me an explanation as to why water bloom happens. Knowing why has really helped. Even though there is a bit in the pic above I now feel much more confident in dealing with the dreaded bloom.
Off to visit woyww before it turns into Thursday.
I am new to watercolors myself and are the water blooms, the stain like spots with hard edges? I would really like to know too! :) I think your flowers look lovely, but your butterflies too! Thanks for visiting me! :)

We never thought to paint with glimmer mist, what a great idea. Those butterflies are so pretty.

Love the Glimmermisted butterflies! Did you have to keep shaking the bottles though?
ReplyDeleteI was going to suggest watercolour tips from the Frugal Crafter, but I see you have already been there. The watercolour flowers do look good. (Lunch next week, right? And definitely not school holidays? :) )
Lie the bottle on its side makes it easier to shake. Lovely cards

Lindsay is great with water colors, I subscribe to her by e-mail. Your flowers are really well done, and I love water color pictures, but the butterflies are my favorite. Great idea to paint on the glimmer mist, must try that. Thanks for the share.

Oh my gosh! As much as I loved your roses last week I can definitely see the improvement in these this week. And they are just as lovely. I know it is hard to see shimmer in photographs but before you mentioned the mists I was sure those were shimmery butterflies. Very lovely! And isn't it hard to get them put down in just the right place?!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous canvases, love the glimmer mists. The roses are are fab. Hugs. Pam#41
