The bee from last week has moved over to make room for the giraffe (original image from Pinterest). Painted at the request of DD and at some point I am painting someones cat. Animals are bit of a stretch but happy to give them a go.
The Dina Wakely abstract painting class I attended on the weekend was sooooo out of my comfort zone. But I gave it a go and this is what I have for show and tell.
The class certainly gave me an opportunity to appreciate what goes into abstract art. Never again will I say "I could do that" because I cannot abstract.
Have a happy woyww.
You may not feel like this is your comfort zone, but I think you are quite the talent! Thanks for your visit and have a great rest of the week! Glenda #21
ReplyDeleteI agree - everyone things abstract is easy, it's the furthest from the truth. Paring something down to its simplest form requires huge skill - something I ain't got, that's for sure. Love your giraffe, he's got a great face!!

Hi Sandra, I really love your abstract, I agree, it's not as easy as it looks. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #22 xxx
ReplyDeleteWOW! Love your giraffe and both stages of your abstract girl - I think you do abstract just great

Love that you're stretching your artistic muscles! The equivalent for me would be to try doing something realistic, which I can't see happening at the moment - or perhaps ever! The giraffe looks fantastic and I really like the face too. Well done for coming out of your comfort zone! zsuzsa #31
ReplyDeleteI adore your giraffe, am sure your DD is over the moon with it.
ReplyDeleteThe face is lovely too, a definite Dina W type image - love the colours you chose.
It does you good once in a while to step out of your comfort zone.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me, Neet xx
I have to disagree with you and say you can do abstract....I love what you've done. The giraffe is stunning too....you are so talented.

Oooh, super talented lady!
ReplyDeleteI love the giraffe, but the white and green/blue painting has intrigued me. I can see an ice wall and lake, with a crevice, and it could lead to such amazing stories..... Guess I've watched too much Game of Thrones, as it reminds me of The Wall. hehehehe
Thanks for stopping by

It's always good to get out of your comfort zone - that where growth happens! Your face looks great, I love the colors! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #41
ReplyDeleteYou're giraffe is beautiful and I also popped back and had a look at the finished Magnolia as I missed last week - wow, so stunning and so delicate. Your abstract is great but I can see it's very far removed from your usual style of working - I love how you've got the proportions of the face so right, she is very realistic and looks like she's painted by someone who can actually 'do' faces!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all of it! Have a great week,

I really admire your talent. You can not only draw, but your coloring is right on cue with the giraffe. But I do so love the bird!
