woyww - card making after a feathery month

A little bit of christmas card making this week.

A refreshing change to painting feathers.

Just in case you are wondering scroll down to see the finished piece.

Quite pleased how the two little birds finished up.

Reminds me of a passage from
the old prayer book....

"He shall defend thee under his wings and
thou shalt be safe under his feathers"

Have a lovely woyww week.

  1. Oh what lovely painting - both the gorgeous little owls and the beautiful Christmas designs. Those feathers must have taken a long time to paint, they are so intricate and realistic - I am always in awe of your water colour skills! The Christmas leaves are quite stunning in their simplicity - so elegant and beautifully shaded. I just love everything you do!
    Have a great week,

  5. WOW..just beautiful. I played catch up from a long absence and you have amazing art pieces. Thank you for sharing them. I love owls and yours are just adorable. Hard to believe the change of seasons going so fast. Our leaves are beautiful, but 40 mph winds may do them in. Happy WOYWW

  11. Those little birds make me happy all over! They have such character, you've caught them perfectly. And look at those cards too, so elegant - they'd be the ones I'd buy to send to my mates! Thanks for your lovely comment - whilst I'm lucky in love, family, friends and life generally, I never win raffles or lotteries...ever. And that's ok by me, lol!!

  15. Sandra, those little owls are so beautiful. They have just the cutest of faces and I love how you have captured the look of feathers so accurately. I think fur and feathers are so difficult to replicate but you an certainly do it.
Two delightful C Cards as well - they are just perfect and I love the ribbon you have painted on them.
Thanks for sharing such beautiful work
