Step 1 - stamp image on cardstock using waterproof/smudge proof ink.
Step 2 - using a white wax crayon draw over areas you want to stay white. I highlighted the edges of the butterfly and some of the lines. Brush off any little bits of wax.
Step 3 - start colouring image using water based inks and foam dabbers/applicators. You can now see the bits I have highlighted using the wax crayon .... it resists the ink and leaves the area white.
Step 4 - Finished ATC
A really quick and easy stamping technique. Lots of different ways to do it on you tube so all credits to the youtube postings. But this is my way ...
I didn't ask, so much as BEG. This is a groovy tutorial and I have Just Now set out my white crayon so as to not forget to do this tomorrow afternoon... with luck, I'll have something passable to show for it... we'll see what I can come up with. Wish me luck, sistah and Thank You!!!

This technique has passed me by so thanks so much for the great tutorial. What a brilliant effect. I shall be raiding my daughter's waxed crayons tomorrow to have a go. Your butterfly is so bueatiful.

Hi Sandra, That's a great, easy to follow, tutorial! I've never really used that technique but I certainly will now. If you are still doing those ATCs would you like some microbeads? They weigh, like nothing, I can easily pop some in the mail. Let me know.
ReplyDeleteP.S.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't get it yet :( The soul card I mean :(
Oh. P.S. also...
I made some crayon resists ... Imma post them in a sec.
