woyww - lily in pink

Slowly working on a pink oriental lily and trying to keep

the washes light and not overwork the painting.

Time will tell if I achieve a light touch.

Have a wonderfully creative week.

  1. Looks so delicate and precise! Not overworking things in my biggest challenge LOL and I have an innate fear of white space! The details in this are amazing! Thanks for your visit earlier! Enjoy your week! xx zsuzsa #24

  2. That is beautiful - do you mean it is not finished? It looks perfect to me. is this a commission? I often wonder if your home is filled with your lovely paintings or are they all sold?

  4. You do have a light touch Sandra, the lily is gorgeous and not overworked at all. I can’t do those perfect botanical type watercolours, working in layers is so not me, lol!! I am in awe of your skill....

  5. Your lilies are stunning. I’ve been dabbling with watercolours but nothing more than dabbling and never will be lol.
It’s been a manic morning here with more wedding dress and bridesmaids dress fittings and then of course they need the sewing doing 😀😀😀

  6. Your lily painting is exquisite, Sandra. I never cease to be amazed at your talent. Just beautiful.

Thank you for your visit. Glad you enjoyed my various yarn-based projects! I adore multi-coloured knitting. Re migraines - I used to get them very badly in my 20s and 30s and then more or less grew out of them, but they returned somewhat differently post-menopause. I get phases of one-sided headaches that are probably migraines, but I've never had one like the other day that made me feel faint - it was quite scary! And I certainly don't want to give up chocolate, however infrequently I eat it this days!!

  14. Wow, Sandra, so light and delicate. The leaves are so real I could lean in and feel them. I don’t know how you know when it’s finished. I do know about overworking stuff though, seems even with a felt tip and a bold outline I can do that!!
