woyww - To mask or not to mask

Needless to say I never got around to making a face mask.
Even before I had made any move to rummage around the sewing drawer quite a lot of controversy arose on the web about whether you can use HEPA vacuum bags safely.

It all became too hard and too confusing.

Instead I bought a lapel pin

and a second one to warn off family members

who keep interrupting me while crafting.

Finally to all the WOYWW's  a painting I did many years ago.

Wishing you all Happy Easter in the year we won't forget in a hurry.

  1. Lol, love the pins especially the Don't Cross Me!! I think I could happily wear that all year round - is it my age that is reducing my tolerance levels d'ya think? ;-). I remember that egg painting, it's still genius!
Happy Easter and stay safe and well,

  4. Wow, those eggs look proper 3D - I really don't know how you do it! You're right, us crafters feel right at home in a lock-down. It also helps if you're an introvert. I hate to say it, but we actually enjoy the slower pace of life - even if busy working from home. I'm so much more productive without any interruptions and I still have enough time doing other things. Those pins look fun! I'm in two minds about masks - I think if everyone wore them in public, they would work. Not so much because they protect the wearer, but because they stop other people spreading though coughs and sneezes. Keep safe and thanks for visiting! xx zsuzsa #16

  5. Hi Sandra, yes I too saw all the discussion on home made face masks.Personally, I'm not leaving the house, as I'm in the high risk group, and Hubby goes out for shopping using his filtered face mask he bought for when he does DIY, so he's pretty safe.Love those eggs, you feel you could almost pick them up. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

  7. loving the lapel pins! I am going out as infrequently as possible (once a week for food) but not got a mask - the ones you see people making are not meant to stop the spread anyway . Love the eggs too. Stay safe. Helen #1

  9. Haa haa oh yes I understand completely about being interrupted as I started my visits this morning my MIL tried to ring me on Whatsapp... I didn't even know she knew how you install it let alone video call :/ Great pins, the cross stitch pin would suit her well. Love those green eggshell eggs, thank you for resharing.
Wishing you a very safe & happy WoywW/Easter Tracey #24

  10. Lovely painting of the egg. As always very impressive work.
I just love your little house pin but it's the family pin that makes me laugh. I cannot imagine you getting cross at all.
    Thanks for sharing,
    Stay safe and well,

  12. I love your fun lapel pins, Sandra, and your egg painting is stunning - I thought they were real ones! I haven't bothered with a mask because I'm not going out. My hubby wears one when he goes shopping - I don't know what kind it is or where he got it. I think if you keep far enough away from people you should be OK.

Thank you for visiting, and isn't that strange, that you have been running in parallel with us in the garden! I'm glad you like my mandalas, Unfortunately the white highlighting seems to have disappeared as it dried (adding white to anything is always a pain!) and I have now re-gessoed them with clear gesso and sanded off the "tooth" and they are ready to add some colour. Maybe they won't be so bad after all! Thank you for your prayers for our PM. I agree, people's appalling behaviour is utterly astounding - you'd think they'd have a bit more compassion at a time like this, especially as we are ALL in this together and vulnerable. How would they feel if someone said that about a member of their family? Anyway, I hope you are keeping safe and well, and managing to enjoy life to the full in the lockdown!

    Happy WOYWW,

  14. The pins are great fun and loving your eggs too. We are doing our best to stay in, just shopping once a week though it's hard going as we have to shop for my parents too (they are 91 and 92). They have meals from Wiltshire Farm but still need things like bread, toilet rolls, butter you know the everyday stuff so we have to go and deliver these. Although they have carers every day they don't do lots of the things my parents need so we have no choice but to visit them. I feel so sorry for elderly people who have no one to help them, I have no idea how they are managing. Anyway less of that. Wishing you a happy woyww and lots of crafty thoughts to keep you busy, Angela x15x

  17. I love the "stay away, I'm crafting" pin idea, I could use that, unfortunately the man got one of THOSE letters and he is not very happy, so I really need to be nice to him, he doesn't want to be stay at home for 12 weeks!!

  18. Hi Sandra
Didn't manage to join in this week, the garden tempted me too much. For once we are having some gorgeous weather here in the UK. Thought I'd just pop by to see what you've been up too. Love your pins, what a great idea. We seem to be having a debate here about whether face masks are a good idea or not. I've looked at some instructions just in case but it seems they are aimed at protecting others rather than yourself so as long as they can have a hot wash that's the main thing. We will see what happens.
    Happy Easter and stay safe
    Hugs Lisax

  21. Oh would you believe, the day I join in for over a year's absence, the broadband breaks! Yep we were without for 24 hours but now it is fixed, horrah!

Loving the eggs and sorry your face mask attempt was foiled. I used a you tube tutorial but had to make smaller for my face and not used it yet either, think it needs some enhancements. I did sew in a bread clip, the wider wire bendy ones, for the nose bridge though.

    Thanks for the visit BJ#19

  22. I have been arguing with my 85 year old mother over the past few days (and we never argue) about her inviting my brother to her house for dinner on Saturday. He is not as isolated as she is, and goes over to his girlfriend's house every weekend, and does her errands for her...I think (hope) I finally convinced her. It's harder than trying to get a toddler to do something! Your lapel pins are very cute, and those eggs are amazing! Have a lovely Easter, keep busy, stay safe! Lindart #29

  23. I am led to believe that if you have the virus, the mask is useful to protect others from you, but otherwise it’s not as protective as you think because you have damp eyes that need protecting too. I don’t know what to believe anymore, so I’m happy just being at home breathing in fresh spring air. We have been blessed with some fab weather that makes being at home so much easier! I thought it was a photo of eggs that you’ve found...how fab your painting is...and what a gorgeous gorgeous colour.

  24. ah yes, the evidence is still mounting on the mask issue so like many others I haven't decided yet BUT I love those lapel pins you bought, brilliant.

The painting is stunning also, great colour and detail too
