woyww -Chromatopia

The week has been a mix of gardening, walking and enjoying the sunshine.

Plus, some time at my desk painting simple cards using my watercolours and

reading up on how colours have been made throughout history.

Hope your week in isolation has been peaceful.

  2. Morning Sandra. Your leaves are beautiful, very elegant. I read your post last week. How are the salad crops coming on. We planted much the same. The rocket is doing really well but not much sign of the others yet. I've got a tomato plant in the greenhouse and sowed some other seeds at the weekend. They were a bit old as they came from the back of the cupboard while we can't go out and get new ones. Time will tell like you say.
Have a good week and stay safe

  5. Such a delicate and beautiful little watercolour, and I do love your handmade paints book - I love the decoration on the front and it's such a good idea to record all your findings in it so you can replicate your colours.

  8. That painting is just stunning Sandra - I am always amazed at your work, and love how you make your own paints too! Not many people can do that, I am sure. Following on a long history too - hope you are enjoying reading the book which looks most intriguing.

Thank you for your lovely comment - so glad you liked my photos, particularly the one of my hubby with the kitties! You can understand why I'm always snapping away at them - they are always up to something funny!

  10. I so admire you making your own pigments which, I trust, you are recording details of in your book. I even love the cover of the book the way you have decorated it. Needless to say I love your little watercolour, so pretty and delicate. Glad you are coping in this terrible time and keeping busy doing just what you enjoy.

  14. I don't share your love for gardening. I am pretty poor at it in fact. But sunshine and walking sound great. Our weather is not there yet. The topic of your book sounds very interesting. Will you start making your own colors now? (or do you already? )
    Stay safe and Happy Wednesday!

  15. Sounds like your days are filled delightfully, your watercolour is so delicate painted with your own colour pans. The book must be so interesting, how amazing are our ancestors to have worked out and produced those colours of the world.
Wishing you a safe & happy week and as always thank you for sharing WoywW Tracey xx

  16. Well I hope your muscles aren’t so cross with you this week! For the first time since my child stopped wanting to play in it, I feel grateful to have a garden and have like you, visited it, tidied it and even planted in it in the last couple of weeks. The weather helps, such a glorious spring. I bet the book is fascinating, I just love the title! Love that delicate stem on the card, but how it came from those 3 grungy colours is a mystery to the clunky felt tip user in me!!

  21. Oh My, received my new Bible Journal goodies yesterday and so was so wrapped up in that most of the day and still not ventured into the Bible itself!!
Anyway adorable watercolour, I need to get my head around water colours for the bible journalling.

  22. OOOH! I love the leaf watercolour, it reminds me of bamboo, very Asian in its simplicity! What an interesting book you are reading, I'm assuming you are trying some of them yourself with your little watercolour book? Yes there is lots of controversy surrounding the masks, mostly that there isn't any solid scientific evidence that they work, but apparently they do shield other people from your germs is you happen to have the virus. Hopefully they will come up with something more concrete, but in the meantime, I want to be ready when they say everyone has to wear one. They do work, however, against keeping those pesky mayflies out of my mouth and nose when I go for walks! Thanks for your visit to mine, stay well, stay busy, and stay safe! Lindart #34
