The title says it all ... gardening from morning till lunch and then I sneak into my room
and paint or craft.
At the moment I can't contemplate painting something large and found simple instructions
on instagram @lichingheng for dandelions. A simple and effective way to whip up a few cards.
Social distancing is a struggle when claws are involved.
Stay safe woyww's.
Gorgeous paintings, no matter if they are small! I couldn't contemplate anything big either. Take care and stay safe. Helen #4
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. I love your dandelions. We have got so many on the farm this year (hubby doesn't like them, as it shows the grass is not as healthy as it should be), so I have been concentrating on them for crafty projects (and my beloved daisies). I am doing a screenprinting class virtually and will be collecting the dandelion flowers this week to test out making the 'ink' we will be using for a 2 colour design on 9th May. It is actually surprisingly simple to use flowers - only 30 minutes of simmering, sieve and then add some gum to get the right consistency. I will report back next week. Stay Safe. Ali x #1
ReplyDeleteFabulous dandelions Sandra, I will have to check out that link. Kitty looks very comfortable getting artistic lol. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

Ha! loving the recreation! The dandelions are lovely. I read somewhere that at this time of year they really are top notch food and pollen for bees so can we please tolerate them a little better? So I cut round a clump when I mowed the front grass. It looks a little odd, being precious about dandelions, I almost need a sign to say why!! Gardening has happened here too, and now I’d love a stroll around a nursery so I can buy some late spring colour, this garden is definitely looking a bit plain!
ReplyDeleteLol at the artwork, it's really clever and very funny!! I love your dandelions, so beautifully painted, I have a bit of a soft spot for them, they're so useful medicinally. Even now I blow the clocks to tell the time!

Your dandelion paintings are gorgeous and I would not know where to begin in painting the seed clocks - just amazing. We keep all our dandelions as our guinea pigs love them - the lawns look totally neglected as we mow around them but it's worth it for the piggies! Love the photo, it make me smile.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week and stay safe and well,

I love your dandelion paintings...no weeks are safe to pop their heads up in our garden at the mo cos we are out there in it so much so there's not a chance that our dandelions get to the flowering stage this year :-) Keep smiling, we can do this lockdown thing.

Hi Sandra. Thanks for your visit - and being so polite and not mentioning that my post this morning is in a muddle. I'm afraid word press wasn't playing properly today - even when I went back and tried to edit the thing!! Loving your recreation!! My daughter and granddaughter did one of the lady of Shallot! Those dandelions are fantastic - wish I could paint - small or large, it wouldn't matter. Would just love to be able to do it!
ReplyDeleteTake care. Stay safe. God bless.

Love the dandelions!! I'm also keeping it simple, just ploughing through my half started cards and crafts. Cute recreation - I've seena few of these around - some are quite hilarious! Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #18
ReplyDeleteaww those paintings are great. ha ha love the kitty photo . Take care and stay safe. Soojay #24
ReplyDeleteLoving the dandelions. I'm afraid you are unlikely to find any flowers from this plant in our garden as I go round pulling them off so that the seeds cannot develop. I know that I am probably wasting my time but the little devils get everywhere. Loving the Kitty art too. Take care and have a very happy woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful are your Dandelions a good food source for the Bee's and those Dandelion Puffs stand no chance of flying off in the wind if our Freya see's them if only I could capture her face when she chomps on one hee hee!!
ReplyDeleteA modern masterpiece in the making is your (re) creation of Adam, now that's a painting to consider.. Happy WoywW Tracey #14 xx
Loving the flowers and your cat photo. Fab desk share. Take care Zoe xx 25
ReplyDeleteAmazing dandelion paintings, one day I'll be up to that standard. (wishful thinking methinks) Must look for the link you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit BJ#17
I left a comment earlier this a.m. via my iPad, Sandra, but it doesn't seem to have appeared. I think using the iPad may be why I've been having problems with this - it was the same last week. Anyway, I love your dandelions - my hubby hates dandelions but they are so beautiful, especially the clocks, and every part of the plant can be used as food! I love Michaelangelo's "Kitty" - how awesome is that lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting - so glad you like my drawings and cards. As for the garden, it's all my hubby's hard work. It is starting to repay his efforts, isn't it!
Happy WOYWW,

I love the recreation of "creation of Adam" - it made me smile, and your dandelion paintings are gorgeous. Happy belated WOYWW. Stay safe and take care my friend. With love & God Bless, Caro xx (#29)
ReplyDeleteLove the pose with kitty.
ReplyDeleteSorry you cannot create bigger pictures like you used to - actually I never knew how big any of your work was but I hope it is not the enforced isolation that is getting to you Sandra. That is not to say I do not like your miniature paintings because I do. I love the dandelions when they have died and they have the fluffy flower heads (seeds). I could not imagine anyone being able to paint them but you have, and perfectly. Dandelions are beautiful happy flowers, pity we see them as weeds.
Hugs, Neet xx 8
The dandelions are really wonderful and the photo of the 'creation' pose made me smile, fantastic! Sorry I'm late with my visit this week... it's already Saturday, wow! Enjoy your weekend! Hug from Holland, Marit #20
