woyww - canvas

The plan is to do a mixed media canvas using an old photo. I started by adding book pages and tissue paper as a background and  then painted a gesso wash to tone it all down.  What you see is a fairly clean desk with canvas and a bit of scrap paper towel just hanging around.  Hopefully it will develop over the next few days.  I also got some lovely mail from the UK.
Thank you Shaz for the lovely ATC which arrived at the end of last week.  Loved getting all the mail from woyww's and admiring all the different styles and techniques.

Last and final pic is the orchid which is once again flowering on the deck.  Not the brightest of days but it is winter and rain was on its way.  Last year I posted a pic of the orchid and a lovely woyww had suggested I fertilize the plant for more flowers the following year.  OMGoodness it is true, this year 5 flowers!  Enjoy your week and I hope to slowly get around and visit lots of desks courtesy of the Julia.

  2. The canvas looks interesting, I look forward to seeing how it comes out. I've never bothered to feed my orchid and only ever get two flowers, so I might try feeding it and see how many I get next year. Love the WYWW atc you received.
Have a great week, bummer about this rotten weather.

  6. That is just how I like my desk, clean and tidy and with what I want to play with taking centre stage. Your orchid is looking lovely too... I thought they were really hard to grow. Annette #8

  7. I’m in awe that your desk is so tidy when you’re working Sandra, if that were me I’d have stuff all over the place and paint over me as well.
Love your beautiful Orchid. They are one of my favourite flowers and I have two that are just about to flower. One is White and the other Pink if I remember correctly.
    Happy Crafting!

  8. That orchid is stunning, Sandra - beautiful. We have to grow them indoorshere on the North Wales coast. They don't like the front of our bungalow - but love the back, facing North West. No idea why...
Your craft desk looks like you are about to have fun!!
    Thanks for dropping by.
    Have a great week.

  10. Such a lovely and bright space to create in! See you are on your way with your canvas primed. Lovely ATC from Shaz! We have orchids here at the office, but they never last, I will suggest fertizer, as they literally throw them out when the flowers fall off! Winnie#85

  16. A friend gave me an orchid last June and it has flowered continuously ever since...no word of a lie, pink flowers have reigned supreme, even over winter! What a plant...I love it...yours is really pretty too. I'll take the tip of fertilising it on board though and give it a go!!

  18. Such a neat and well organised space. Beautiful orchid. My mum and Aunt gave me one 2 years ago and it has flowered almost continually. I feed it and water it with previously boiled tap water allowed to cool. Happy WOYWW Anne #69

  22. Thanks for calling by on me yesterday. I'm only just getting round to doing a bit of blog hopping to check out what my friends have been up to this week....a 6am to 9pm day with my gorgeous grandchildren yesterday sort of got in the way of blogging....but I'm not complaining cos it was a wonderful day. :-)
I really love your orchid and well done you for getting it to bloom again.

  25. Your canvas sounds great - gesso is wonderful stuff, isn't it. I look forward to seeing it in all its glory when it's finished. Beautiful orchid, too! That ATC is stunning... Lovely stuff all round this time, Sandra!

I haven't been around much recently because I haven't had a work desk to show off, with everything being packed up for our move. Now that my new ARTHaven is nearly complete, I've got a lovely new work desk to share, even if it hasn't actually got anything on it yet!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
