woyww - makings of a card

On this beautiful sunny Wednesday I have the beginnings of a card. I have been using the Darkroom Door "full bloom" stamps with distress inks for years and still love the effect.
A very simple card that is quick and easy to stamp out and get in the post.  This time I am making a few extras to donate to the local school fete and have around 20 cards in a box ready for the fete.  Now on to more serious business........
whenever I start a project I always come across bits and pieces in the craft room that I don't use. Some of the items have never been used and some are left over bits that I am ready to send to a new home.   If you would like a surprise bag of goodies leave a comment.   No need to become a follower or answer any questions. I will randomly pick a winner before the next woyww post.  Just like my simple card I am aiming for no frills simple candy.  Enjoy your week.

  5. Thanks for stopping by my site and for your comments. Sometimes a simple stamp design is more effective than a complicated one. At least starting with a simple one you have the choice of embellishing it, or just leaving, as is. Keep up the good work, John-w #77

  6. Hi Sandra, Your "simple" cards are lovely. It's such an effective technique.
The class with Rachel was really good. Yes, they are 5"x7" canvasses and I am very happy with them! Will bring them to next lunch, naturally :)
I have to finish the frame of the Finn canvas for my niece's 21st later this month. Catch you soon,

  15. A lovely card, Sandra--beautiful vibrant colors!

Oh gosh, that candy is tempting, but you know I'm on a clean out, and am actually filling a box for a giveaway myself . . . but it's always so much fun to get something different, isn't it?

Anyway, thank you for stopping by this woyww--sorry I had the wrong link in for this week, you actually saw my last week desk, not that it's much different this week, lol!

  16. Love the card Sandra, thanks for swinging by my blog. I never ever think of using distress inks for stamping, I always use them for edging...I will be trying this idea. Love the blog candy idea...I should pinch this and do the same thing, as the old saying goes 'one man's rubbish is another man's treasure' :) Cx #31

  18. Beautiful card, love the watercolour technique. Love the kitty from the last woyww post too!! Love the idea of the bits and pieces giveaway, I'll opt out though as I've been lucky enough recently.... apart from the darned car that is, lol!! At least these old cars (and bikes) are fixable at home, modern machinery is all wires and computers and costs a ton of money to fix!

  19. Oh that's me..fuss free..but full of drama darling! How generous you are. I LOVE the DD image, and mostly your treatment of it. Now..are you spritzing the card prior to stamping, spritzing after stamping, or spritzing the stamp once inked? I know..a lot of questions, but I least it doesn't conclude with 'are we nearly there yet?'.

  20. That's my kind of card, Sandra! CASlicious and classic! No thank you for your generous offer, though. As you know, I am buried in my own excesses!! Happy WOYWW and thanks for the visit to me! Have a wonderful week! Darnell #12

  21. Love the card...easy or not it definitely makes a statement. I love using the distress inks as a water color and I ink up the stamp then lightly spritz water on it then stamp...looks like a water color!! Hope you have a great week Sandra and thanks for visiting my blog! Vickie #36

  24. TY for popping by my desk. :D Comments always make me happy. Your card turned out beautiful. The colors are bright and cheery. I've never heard of Darkroom Door before. I checked out their FB page…O-M-G I LOVE their stuff!!! I WANT it ALL!!!!. Did that sound greedy?? LOL You have some really beautiful watercolors throughout your blog. I LOVE watercolors. That is my artistic goal, to take my Moleskine to a park or coffee shop, sketch something and then create a watercolor. Yours are inspirational. I especially love all your flowers. Thanks for doing a giveaway. I recently had one, my 1st one. They are as much fun to do as to they are to win. OK, I have rambled long enough. Happy Hump Day!!! (((HUGS)))

  25. Your card is gorgeous and Darkroom Door are one of my favorite stamp brands. I don't have this gorgeous bloom set though but have others that I love and use often. Loving the look of all those goodies you are giving away, isn't it funny how we accumulate stash and never end up using it. I actually have some of the chipboard buttons myself. I am sure it will find a good home where-ever it ends up. Have a great week and Happy WOYWW! Danie #14

  26. Your card is fabulous, it looks just like a watercolour painting.Such gorgeous bright colours. I sometimes wonder why I bother to paint from scratch when you can get such wonderful stamps. Oh, that's right, I've tried that with my daughters stamps and it wasn't pretty. More ink on me than the paper. Think I'll stick with paint.
    Have a fabulous week.

  29. I am on my iPad whilst away and regretting every minute of not having my pc. I key in so much and then it freezes which is why you got two messages, it would not let me continue with the above one. Now I can't remember what I was going to say. Ah well, if I stop to think I will freeze again so toodle pip

  30. Thanks for your lovely comment, Sandra, and so glad you enjoyed seeing last year's ATC swap. I feel so ashamed that it's taken me a year to upload it, but life really did get in the way shortly afterwards and then other things needed to be posted about. I'm glad I've done it now, though, because from the comments, it's giving a lot of people joy!!
