woyww - painting again

Painting silver dollar eucalyptus leaves after a little break.

Maybe it was the Covid-19 overload that led to a complete lack of motivation to embark on anything that required time or concentration?

Making a few cards with
little pressure seems to have pushed me on.
Quick and easy in watercolour.

A little bit of rain and cooler weather has brought out the
fungi and mushrooms in the park.

Kitty would not participate in any mockups this week as she was clocking up serious nap time.

But, it reminds me of a painting by William Gresham Collingwood, and I did take the photo
from my study.

Wishing all of woyww a safe week full of craft and art.`

  1. Kitty certainly looks too comfortable to disturb Sandra. Glad you are doing a little painting again, if only quick and easy. They look great anyway. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5

  2. Morning Sandra. So lovely to see your paintings on your post. I really like those leaves and the card. Well done. I do agree we can have overload on Covid-19. Being on my own I'm very careful what I watch and listen to about it all. News headlines, main story, and then, as soon as they get into the "what do you think..." bits, I turn the TV off. I simply want facts, not opinions, otherwise I don't know truth from fiction.
Take care of yourself. Stay safe. God bless.

  3. I adore the silver dollar eucalyptus, one of my favourite bouquet stems (which is pretty much how I ever see them on this side of the world). They cheer me, hovering and being an impossible to name powdery greens silvery bluey leaf. Hard to believe that you have UFOs to be honest, but not much more info needed...take a before and after picture for the 572 blog post. You only have to do one and even then, if you don’t or can’t, we still wanna see what you have done!

  4. Happy WOYWW. I love your paintings. The colours are gorgeous. I seem to be addicted to pens at the moment, so my watercolours are in my mixed media box having a rest. I do use watercolour brushes on Procreate a lot, and just got a fabulous alcohol ink set. Using my iPad for sketching is a sheer joy. Stay safe. Ali x #13

  5. I knew they were eucalyptuseseses (eucalypti?) before I read your text, lovely shape and colour and your painting really captures them! I know what you mean about lockdown, apart from having a specific focus to aim for, I haven't done any crafting to please myself really. The fungi are fab, you do get some interesting colours and shapes!

  6. Sometimes with all the extra creativity around us as people find ways of coping with lockdown it's hard to find our own happy balance when when have already found our creative side. Never feel guilty about getting back to the simple way of life and crafting as every mark we make is our way of self expression. Beautifully painted as always, i'm just happy to sit and admire.
Thank you for sharing WoywW it looks like Kitty found a great spot this week..
Take care & stay safe Tracey #6 xx

  7. those eucalyptus leaves are lovely! You are so talented. With regard to lockdown motivation I have been pushing myself to complete started projects - so no real inspiration needed there. I have factored in some time for 'me' projects - time will tell whether once there is no real urgency whether my mojo will stay or leave! Stay well, stay safe, Happy WOYWW Cindy #18

  8. Eucalyptus leaves are so lovely aren't they. I had a lovely tree in the garden but lost it one very hard winter. I used to photograph the leaves all the time. Glad to see you painting again.
Have a cup of Yorkshire Tea for me, we can't get any here at the moment. I'm on PG, but that's ok, I still enjoy it.
Take care Sandra and keep painting.

  16. Wow Sandra, that painting is just gorgeous... It is so subtle and delicate. Fabulous! Lovely photos of fungi too, and dear little Kitty sleeping her head off! Thank you for your visit. The trays in my picture are seed sprouting trays and are not the ones the mushrooms come in - those are flimsy brown plastic but they will be ideal for growing microgreens. I'm so glad you liked my backgrounds and our herb garden, and also that Ruby made you smile! When my hubby lifted her up like that, all wrapped up in the blanket, I just had to take a photo! I think the fact that one little paw is coming out makes it even more endearing!

    Happy WOYWW,
