WOYWW - Blooms and a treasured gift

I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to have a beautiful collage work from Diana at Velvet Moth Studio.  The photo of course does not do justice to her art work.  Thank you Diana it now hangs on my studio wall and I can admire your work to my hearts content

Our  camellia has bloomed and bloomed this winter and I had to share a photo of the lovely carpet of petals.

The completed Acacia pycantha, most commonly known as the "golden wattle ".  From memory it may even be the official floral emblem of Australia.

Hopefully the recipient will like it.

Have a safe and creative WOYWW week.

  4. I’m CERTAIN that the recipient will like the Acacia, my goodness, you could pick it off the page! Oh that camellia is a gift isn’t it - they need a bit of coaxing here to grow here, worth the effort. Never seen a carpet of petals like that though, isn’t it glorious! Beautiful piece from Diane, I can imagine how thrilled you are.

  8. Lovely gift from Diana, she is so talented and such a lovely lady.
Likewise your painting of the Golden Wattle, I am sure the recipient will be delighted - what a lovely commission that was.
Gosh your Camellia just keeps on giving doesn't it? Such a beautiful carpet of flowers on the ground and yet so many blooms still there for you to enjoy. Can you not make paint with the petals? They are such a gorgeous colour.

  15. What a beautiful gift from Diana, and gorgeous flowers in the garden! Your painting, as always, is stunning - you are one talented lady! Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you enjoy my recipes. Tofu is a new adventure for me. We sampled the first lot for supper tonight and both enjoyed it, but I'm not sure that it came out quite right as it was rather grainy and crumbly. It was light and fluffy after cooking, though, and I marinated it in a nice piquant dressing and it was very tasty. Do you make your own tofu? I think I shall have to buy some, just to see how it is meant to turn out!! I'm glad you like the cardigan. Thanks to Julia and her UFO challenge, it will not now linger in a box for the next 25 years!

  19. What a wonderful piece of art you received! I always love 'tapestries' made of petals or leaves (or moss) It sometimes is a pity whe can't lay those in our rooms (it would get rather messy, don't you think?!) Thanks for visiting my blog and your sweet compliment about my "new hair". Big hug from Holland, Marit #26

  20. What a lovely gift to receive, I'm sure it will give you many years of pleasure. Your painting as always is beautiful and judging by that carpet of petals your camellia display was stunning! Always sad when things are over and you know you will have to wait a year to see it again but also there's always something new to appreciate. Stay Safe, stay well, Cindy #27
