Referring to the Eucalyptus caesia commonly known as the "Silver Princess" rather than the state of my hair.
Signed up for quick online workshop with David Reynolds and was really pleased to learn his techniques for painting the chalky finish on the thin branches.
Still a work in progress but relatively happy with the result so far. Need to finish up on some details and then I'm calling it quits.
I won't be around WOYWW for several of weeks and will desks visit on weekends. Starting another online workshop which runs on a Wednesday. Hopefully will have some photos to post.
Have a safe and creative week
That is a beautiful painting and quite Oriental in appearance - it's a lovely plant, I've never heard of it before. I laughed at your hair reference, I had mine cut properly last week, such a relief! Hope you enjoy your course though I shall miss you - do come back!

That's really gorgeous and I think you've grasped the new technique really well.

I will miss you on a Wednesday but hopefully will remember to check for you at the weekends instead. Hope you will still be publishing some work for us to see.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely painting you have treated us to today, I can imagine that there is quite a skill in showing that work on the stem. It's like tears on a face or a droplet on a rose petal always held fascination for me as to how someone could capture it so true to life.
Thanks for sharing and do enjoy your new classes and learn lots (although
I don't see what you can learn as I adore your work already)
Hugs, Neet 3 xx
Enjoy your workshops - we will miss your beautiful artwork! x Jo

ReplyDeleteI recognised this as a Eucalyptus tree - I've just got two little ones from the garden centre! You've painted it to perfection - the twigs so delicate with the bumps and the brown bits in the leaves too - so realistic! I have no idea how you paint like this and I know never will have these skills, so I'm in awe! Happy belated! zsuzsa #23

You have been missed! So this is particularly good to see - you know how much I enjoy your paintings . The technique for the chalky finish really worked well. It is another beautiful painting and I would be perfectly happy to call it completed.

One of my dog walking customers had a few Eucalyptus trees at the top of their very large garden, one had been kept trimmed and had grown into a most beautiful silver bush, the other taller ones were a completely different colour, more of an olive green. Your painting is perfect! Hope you're well. Happy Crafting -Happy late WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#20
